First United Methodist Church-Commerce is truly dedicated to having Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors. In addition to its doors being open to all people seeking Jesus Christ, the facility itself is available to those wishing to have a Christian setting for their special event or activity.

Both members and nonmembers are welcome to use the facilities but must meet certain criteria to protect the property and maintain the Christian atmosphere. Those wishing to use church facilities should contact the church office at (903) 886-3220, Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The church Office Administrator keeps a master schedule and can provide information about the facility availability.

All areas of the church are air conditioned and handicapped accessible. Please note that this is an alcohol and drug free campus.

Planning Your Wedding:

We have several facilities to accommodate your special day. Our Sanctuary will seat approximately 450 people. If you have planned a smaller gathering, our Chapel will seat 40-50 people comfortably. We also have a Family Ministry Center that could serve as your reception site and accommodate up to 250. To maintain the Christian atmosphere and to protect church property, certain rules must be followed by all who use the church facilities. All activities must be scheduled through the church office. Alcoholic beverages and the use of tobacco products are not permitted on the church property.

Funeral Building Usage:

We understand that funeral planning can be stressful, and it will no doubt keep you very busy. We want to be sensitive to the needs during this time of loss and ensure a very special and meaningful experience through the use of our facilities. As soon as you are preparing for arrangements, please call our church office at (903) 886-3220, Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, to discuss scheduling and procedures.
